The universal program of preparation of children to a comprehensive school (free-of-charge).

In 1997 the legislature of state of New York has organized the universal program of preparation of children in kindergartens (UPK), the responsibility for which realization is assigned to the state department of formation and which purpose is granting to all children of staff in the age of four years an opportunity to receive early formation. Initially, it was planned to enter stage by stage program UPK in all school districts within four years, but financing of the program was conducted worse, than has been planned, and as a result, some districts till now cannot participate in this program.

At Shostakovich School of Music, Art & Sport this program is carried out 4 years. This educational year (2008-2009) will free-of-charge have an opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills of English language and arithmetic 72 children who have been born in 2004.

The universal program of preparation of children to a comprehensive school is carried out on the basis of the public programs authorized by department of formation of New York.

Children study English language, the spelling, natural sciences, mathematics, logic, applied arts, music, work with the designer and dances.

All teachers have corresponding certificates and licenses.

It is in addition given a free-of-charge breakfast and a dinner.
